Charity Shop top altered but not yet complete
Saw this lovely velvet body in UO and then found this top which reminded me of it in a charity shop. As you can see it was a big top and not very cool. I have took it in, made the straps thinner and the neck lower. Not yet completed as i need to complete hems on neck and arm holes. But just a preview.
Make do and Mend
I love SHOPPING. Do you love shopping? If you do this is a serious read for the shopaholic. It recently occurred to me, that I never go a day without buying something. I’m not just talking clothes here, absolutely anything. This desire to buy and own something, gives me this wonderful feeling that quickly disappears when my purse becomes lighter. The feeling is great when you go out and there you are in your new posessions. But once worn the novelty soon wears off and your again on the hunt for your next rush. If were not buying something, were talking about buying something or dreaming of owning something.
BUT
Have you ever wondered what you would be doing if you weren’t out shopping?
DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNN
Yes I actually scared myself. Drinking, partying, shopping, sleeping and eating. Is that really what us 20-somethings life consists of.? It appears to me most of us are in this cycle but noones fighting back because everyone’s under the illusion it’s the norm.
Well I am fighting back.
Make do and mend. Something you would hear through the austerity years.
Well there is nothing wrong with using some old priniciples and applying them to today. Anyone reading this will think I make it sound easy like a walk in the park. Please do not be fooled, I am the most impatient person ever. But I guess making your own stuff has its benefits. So over the next 365 days I will post all the stuff I make and I hope you enjoy looking at it.
Benefits: Not only will I save money. I will make unique one offs and feel good about myself whilst learning to be disciplined.
